Avoid the knife: a few decent alternatives
by Cosmetic Blogger Paul Watson
Heading under the knife seems a bit extreme, doesn’t it? Like taking a sledgehammer to a tiny screw, or bringing a Kalashnikov to a handgun fight. While you might feel like cosmetic surgery is the answer to all your problems, there’s little guarantee that you’ll be pleased with the results. Indeed, the risks inherent in invasive plastic surgery can be too much for some to bear, causing panic attacks outside surgical theatres up and down the country. Do you want that kind of hassle? If not, then we’ve come up with a few ways to improve your face – without a trip to the surgeons.
Cream of the crop
People always say, “Once on the lips, a lifetime on the hips.” But your hips aren’t what you should be worried about. In fact, if Meghan Trainor is to be believed, we’re all about that hourglass figure in 2015. What you should be concerned for is the impact all those cakes and buns will have on your face. No matter. There are a thousand-and-one articles on how to get rid of double chin, but only a few sure-fire solutions. Try a cream that’s specially designed to tighten the skin and your double chin will disappear pronto. With just a few applications you’ll find that you’ll be looking firmer and thinner than ever.
Sculpted makeup
Facial contouring doesn’t have to involve a ton of nips and tucks. In fact, it could be as simple as a few swipes of an eyeliner pencil. First off, think of the shape of your face (diamond, oval, etcetera) and stencil your eyebrows accordingly. Then it’s time to highlight and contour your face as you please. This is a trial and error method that will take some time to get just-so. But once you’ve perfected your look, you need only reapply it every morning to look radiant.
A little hard work
Suffering from a large, puffy face? Then the solution doesn’t even have to involve any creams or contouring – just a small amount of exercise will do. Start by jogging every second day, eat plenty of foods rich in vitamins and minerals and drink an average of eight glasses of water a day. These are pretty basic fitness tips, but you’d be amazed at how few people follow them. If you want to keep your face in the fittest shape, this is certainly the most natural option.
Sleep like a log
Do you catch your 40 winks? Or do you settle for 30? Well, then that might be the root of your weight issues. Scientific studies have shown that those lacking a decent snooze are more likely to eat junk food and, in turn, gain plenty more weight and look less attractive to the opposite sex. Try to catch up on an average eight hours of sleep a night. It might even wake you up to the realities of surgery.
