Research: Botulinum Toxin Injection between brows works great
A study that was recently published showed that injections of Botulinum Toxin (Type A) between the brows seems to bring really satisfactory results. The study which was published at the Aesthetic Surgery Journal (official publication of ASAPS – The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery) can be found here.
The survey used an innovative instrument called FACE-Q in order to be completed. FACE-Q is a valid patient-reported outcome instrument which measures patients’ perception for facial procedures. 57 patients took the survey consisting of 63 questions regarding age appearance, overall appearance, appearance of nasolobial fold, cheeks, chin, neck and jawline. The survery asked whether botulinum toxin type Injection brings decent effect when injected between brows (in this spot which is called “11s”, the lines that appear between brows as we are getting odler) and the findings were quite interesting. Patients claimed that they feel 5.6 years younger after injecting the toxin.
President of ASAPS stated: “The results of this study are not surprising and validate what we’ve suspected for quite some time. I see an ever-increasing influx of patients in my practice in Laguna Beach, CA requesting botulinum toxin type A injections to the area between the brows and other areas on the face like the crow’s feet and forehead as a preventative anti-aging or, pre-aging measure from patients in their 20s up to their 70s. It’s a quick nonsurgical fix that packs a powerful punch and this new study reaffirms the efficacy of botulinum toxin type A and the satisfaction it brings to patients”.
The senior author of the study, DR. Ivona Percec claims: “This indicates that patients’ satisfaction with their overall facial appearance was statistically significantly greater after receiving the injections, and certainly accounts for the continued success of neurotoxin popularity to reduce the signs of aging”.
