Cosmetic Surgery Center Sued for not treating HIV patient

1Advanced Cosmetic Surgery, a cosmetic surgery center based in New York was recently sued due to their denial to treat a patient that was suffering from HIV and Cancer. His anti-cancer and HIV medication caused a chest inflammation and the patient asked the center to operate on his chest but the center refused.
The Federal procecutors and the Manhattan Attorney Preet Bharara have filled a lawsuit because such refusals are considered illegal. It’s also proved that Advanced Cosmetic Surgery have refused to treat at least two other HIV patients. According to the investigation that was carried out the center’s policy is to refuse treating patients that were suffering from HIV, cancer or diabetes.
Attorney Bharara states: “Individuals with disabilities are entitled to the same medical services as everyone else, and there can be no room in the medical profession for the kind of discrimination alleged in this lawsuit.”
Advanced Cosmetic Surgery on the other hand underline that they perform surgeries only to patients that are in healthy condition but the Attorney encourages all patients that faced a denial because of their disabilities to contact his office’s civil rights unit.
PS: We’ve not conducted our research on this case but it looks like these are the cases that cosmetic and plastic surgery can be proved absolutely important/necessary/useful for the man.
