Hand Lifts: The New Plastic Surgery Trend

3In the long list of the various plastifc surgery trends is now added a new one: Hand Lifts.. after jaw makeovers, eyebrow transplants, buttock augmentation, now a new anti-aging craze is rising!
Who are the target of this procedure? Moms and older brides because the photos of their hands with the rings will remain forever and they feel they should be perfect. Many doctors have to deal with the desire of their hands to look young and alive and it seems that the obvious answer is this new hand lift. Dr. S. Ingraham of Advanced Dermatology explains that a hand lift is the under tissue injection of FDA approved fillers: “A hand lift is when we inject a substance such a Radiesse, which is the only FDA approved filler for the hands under the tissue. What this does is act like that collagen that’s been lost over time,”
As for the customers feedback? Mary Beth Strayer a proud mother that her daughter is now going to be married comments on hand lifts: “I’m thrilled with the results. I think they look fantastic. And knowing I’m going to be in so many photos, it’s going to be great,”. Another popular reason for a hand lift is the veins that become more evident while aging. Another hand lift costumer, Melissa Shannon says: “I’ve had little kids make comments about my veins that you can see. Now when I notice people who are about the same age, I catch myself looking at their hands and I think, ugh, my hands do look bad. They do age you”. Again the feedback was enthusiastic – Shannon states: “I love it. You can see the change, complete change. So when I look down at my hands I don’t see all the skeletal bones and veins. I love it,”
As for the duration of a hand lift effect it seems that it can be up to 12 months. The cost of a hand lift starts at around $950.
Which is our comment? Possible patients should really think maturely if they really need to intervene in a natural process like aging.. if this leads somewhere else than a constant battle to fight something as natural as aging!
