Jaws Makeover – a new trend inspired from.. superheroes
We’ve repeatedly spoken on the trends in plastic surgery based on celebrities, selfies and so on. Now, a new hype is rapidly evolving, this time based/inspired on the characteristics of .. superheroes! Jaws makeover is getting popular among people in their 40s-50s who have to face this annoying sagging skin on the necks and loose jaws. And the thing is they don’t even realise that the best solution for them is a jaw makeover.
ASPS reports that jaw makeovers mostly based on minimally invasive techniques such as fillers, ultrasound treatment etc are getting extremely popular! Exactly like liposuction alternatives appear in many cases to be more attractive than liposuction because of the less pain involved, minimally invasive jaws makeovers feature a huge advantage: less time, minor pain. Dr. Keaney, a Washington Dermatologist states “I get a lot of men coming in now for these treatments saying, ‘It always bothered me, but I didn’t want to do surgery.’ ”
We don’t have official stats regarding the parts of the face stich-free treatments are applied to, but truth is the multitude of options regarding jaw makeover brings about higher demand. New York plastic surgeon Dr. Steinbrech also suggests the influence of granite-jawed actors playing superheroes in movies (Chris Pratt of Guardians of the Galaxy is a good example) plays a major role. Dr. Steinbrech claims “When people see a chiseled chin they automatically assume that underneath that suit you have a Superman outfit on.”
Another good reason that lies behind the impressive boost in jaws makeover is according to the Manhattan Plastic surgeon Darrick Antell that strong jaws are a hallmark of chief executives. Dr. Antell studied the profiles from the Top 50 Fortune 500 companies and noticed that an incredible 90% of them had strong chins (while at the same moment this appears only in 50% of the US population).
The options that are available to give you a sharp jaw are numerous: ultrasounds that tighten neck skin (making this way the chin more prominent), dermal fillers like Juvederm which extend jaws , Ultherapy, a procedure based on thermal injury caused by ultrasounds which causes the skin to tighten and many more. Besides there is huge anticipation regarding the approval of procedures like ATX-101, which are injections which dissolve chin fat. Fat freezing will also enter in the game and is a really hopefull option (remember how popular is Coolsculpting in terms of body fat reduction).
It becomes pretty obvious Jaws Makeover will play a major role in plastic surgery industry during the next years! We will be there to watch this new craze and exclude useful conclusions.
