MirrorMe3D – A brand new 3D Preview system
In the past we’ve mentioned several 3D preview systems that are used in Plastic Surgery in order to give the patient an idea of how he will look after the surgery like Crisalix and Vectra. Now a brand new tool, developed by a cosmetic surgeons seems to take simulation of a surgery’s results in another level. It’s called MirrorMe3D.
The device scans people’s faces (or even other parts of the body) that they are thinking of improving and creates 3D printed models of the results of the operation. It can be used to “predict” a rhinoplasty, a breast augmentation or an eye lift.
The 3D models can be taken home for possible patients to show them to close friends or family. The whole project is a very useful option because patients are now able to get a much better idea of how they will look comparing to 3D simulations that are shown on screens.
The manufacturers highlight the advantages of MirrorMe3D: “By holding a model your new face, you can be certain that your goals and expectations match those of your surgeon,” and add“A 3D model will give you the greatest insight into the transformative effects of aesthetic surgery.”
As for the cost of the 3D models (of breasts or face) it’s between $600 and $300.
