Renowned doctor explains increase in number of younger persons interested in Plastic Surgery
Till recently the main age group of people that were interested in plastic surgery were people in their 50’s and 60’s. Now it becomes quite obvious that even people in their 20’s are increasingly interested in improving their appearance by menas of surgery. This is a new trend nobody can deny. An important reason for this lies to the fact that these young people are bombarded everyday with beauty stereotypes which pushes them to compare their appearance with such stereotypes.
It’s found that there is a huge increase in plastic surgery patients, between 20 and 30, from 5% to 10% in only 2 years. Dr. Rowe, a plastic surgeon based on New York claims: “When you start seeing numbers doubling, that’s dramatic. That’s something going on. That’s not just an aberration, that’s a trend”.
Dr. Rowe also investigates the reasons that drives youngsters to change their appearance. He says: “While I do love my mother and grandmother, what can I do to maybe not age the same way they did,” he says, repeating his patients. According to his experience there is demand in botox, acid peels, fillers, non surgical fat reduction and hair removal.
Now an obvious question appears.. instead of searching for cosmetic surgery solutions wouldn’t it be more natural to just avoid sun or use sunscreen in order to grow older smoothly?
