Liposuction Techniques

slim lipo laser liposuctionSlim Lipo is a proprietary brand of laser lipolysis technology (developed by Palomar) that can be used to literally melt fat away. The product is quite similar to many other laser liposuction technologies and uses a continuous wave output and precision aiming so that it can be used on small areas of the body and near fibrous tissue. According to Palomar Medical, the manufacturers of SlimLipo, the technique allows for smoother skin contours and less irregularities than are commonly seen with other laser-assisted techniques.  We need to notice that Slim Lipo is a completely different procedure comparing to the Non surgical Liposuction Alternative iSlim Lipo

How does Slim Lipo Work

SlimLipo works on the same principle as other laser-assisted techniques. It utilizes two different wavelengths (924nm and 975nm) to disrupt fat and tighten skin. The 924 and 975 wavelengths are actually patented wavelengths due to their affinity for fat (924) and water (975). 924 targets fat and to a lesser extent the dermis, while 975 targets water which is a large component of dermal tissue. So the 924 nm laser is directed into the fatty layer you want removed. This wavelength is fine-tuned toward rupturing fat cells (find how). The fat cells rupture and liquefy and are then siphoned out of the body through a thin, hollow tube called a cannula with the help of a suction device. The procedure uses local anesthesia only.

Benefits

Like other laser techniques, Slim Lipo not only will improve the contours of your body by removing fat, but will also improve the contours of your skin by tightening it up. This is because lasers have the effect of stimulating skin cells into producing collagen and elastin. If you’re an older patient, your skin probably doesn’t produce much collagen and elastin, which is why you may have wrinkles or sagging skin so probably this technique is among the best for you. Besides, tissue retraction also occurs due to the sparring of septal fibers underneath the skin with SlimLipo’s flexible fiber tip.

This fiber is flexible enough to work around the curves of the body when doing liposuction and body contouring. The flexibility of the tip helps physicians do smaller contour procedures such as the hips, lower back, neck and upper arms. Procedures can only take 30-45 minutes for areas such as the neck or 60-90 minutes for multiple areas of the body.

Many people who have the procedure are able to return to work the next day, and according to Palomar Compression garments are usually worn for a few days to a few weeks depending on the procedure and number of sites treated. SlimLipo claims to work 3-5 times better than SmartLipo

SlimLipo Reviews

The majority of Slim Lipo reviews are very positive and indicate that this technique is safe and effective. Most negative reviews were from customers who either chose subpar surgeons or who were subpar candidates to begin with.

Areas to be treated

Our Advice

It’s important to have realistic expectations about the results of your surgery. You will never be able to achieve perfection through liposuction, only move closer to your ideal. It’s also important to carefully follow all instructions, including wearing your compression garment for as long as is recommended—if not longer. Taking it off too early can result in lumpiness in the area where you had the liposuction. Do your homework before you choose a surgeon to carry out your procedure—make sure you’ll be getting the best doctor your money can buy.
