Study Reveals Stunning Liposuction Health Benefits
Liposuction is undoubtedly a top cosmetic procedure, while it provides amazing fat removal effect with mild side effects! This is a fact! But how many of you even suspected that Liposuction (more info here) could probably reduce the amount of fat in blood?
Dr. Eric Swanson and his team conducted a clinical study with more than 300 liposuction patients counting the pre and post op level of triglycerides! The results showed a noticeable reduction in the amount of blood triglycerides for patients that were above normal (while no important change happened to patients with normal triglyceride levels)! The 43% amount of triglycerides reduction was counted in a 3-month period post surgery! What is even more impressive? The reduction is shown to be more drastic comparing to the one that happens after medical treatment for reducing triglycerides. Besides a reduction in white blood cells levels is also visible here (which is also a sign of better health)!
Dr. Swanson explains his findings: “If we reduce the volume of fatty tissue in the body by liposuction, the levels of those substances produced by fat cells, like triglycerides, are also reduced” while he admits that no long-term studies are carried out so we should be more patient in order to get a heavy/stable conclusion on the triglycerides reduction effect of Liposuction!
The study reveals that the reduction in triglyceride levels correlated with the amount of fat removed in patients who were close to their ideal body weight, possibly because liposuction in these patients creates a greater percentage of body fat reduction. Triglyceride levels did not change significantly among patients who had normal levels before surgery.
Finally its important to notice this is the first study on the health benefits of liposuction! The whole study is published in the ASAPS’s Journal of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery!
