Vanquish: New Liposuction Alternative to be launched!
We recently came through an article at Allure.com which reports a new Non Surgical Liposuction Alternative is going to be available for anyone trying to eliminate fat the non surgical way!
Its called Vanquish and it is manufactured from BTL Aesthetics! Vanquish utilizes focused-field radio frequency in order to deep heat the fat tissue and disrupt fat! Eacg treatment lasts 30 minutes and the skin at the treating area is heated to 101 degrees while the fat tissue’s temperature goes to 120!
A few testimonials that came to light describe the whole experience as painless while the testers have a “warm feeling”. The study conducted by the manufacturing company claims that a visible difference can be noticed after only one treatment while after four treatments there is an average two-inch waist size reduction! The results are supposed to be permanent while the fat cells are destroyed (of course the patient should follow a healhty diet and exercise schedule in order to not increase his fat storages in other parts of the body)! Besides almost zero side effectes were reported! Obviously its early for serious conclusions but while almost every non surgical liposuction alternative has its flaws the announcement regarding Vanquish in the American Academy of Dermatology meeting in Miami Beach brought huge excitement and antipication!
Dr. Simon Ourian (of Epione Beverly Hills) says: “There are a several fat-busting technologies on the market right now including ultrasound and cryotherapy and each has its disadvantages. We still need to see data on long-term results and long-term drawbacks with this procedure.” and adds “Painless, effective fat reduction is the one of the Holy Grails of aesthetic medicine,” and concludes “If this device can deliver on this promise, I expect it will enjoy a very successful future.”

A search today Monday 25March 2013 on FDA web site for 510(k) clearance or PMA approved for VANQUISH indicates there is no registration, clearance, nor approval for this device.
Your articles should be more clear on the FDA status of these devices so the public is not mislead.
The ALLURE article is very misleading.
Other manufacturers and distributors are in trouble with the FDA for promoting, selling, and distributing a device without FDA clearance nor approval.
BLT should not be allowed to promote, advertise, or display their device at professional medical shows without the requisite FDA clearance or approval.
