New Case of Liposuction Death – Lawsuite filed
It seems the list of cosmetic treatments that went wrong is growing rapidly! After this, this and this, yesterday a new case received much exposure: Dr. Nedra Dodds, a plastic surgeon working on Opulence Aesthetic Medicine in Kennesaw faces a lawsuite accusing her that a liposuction surgery she performed killed her patient!
April Jenkins, a 37-year-old patient died short time after the liposuction treatment. The lawyer of the victim’s family commented that Jenkins had her liver pierced during the surgery, by a probing instrument: “It is a medical device that looks like a funnel, but it’s sharp and it allows the doctor to put a camera in,” Unfortunately it was late when she was taken to Kennestone Hospital!
Savage also stated: “An employee was present during the medical procedure and said that during the procedure, a rag was inserted into the mouth of the patient and the drug Propofol was administered,”
While googling about Dr. Dodds we found that she is not board certified in plastic surgery (at least we found many references at Realself.com mentioning that). Actually she is board certified in emergency medicine! Besides back in 2010 we found a topic at makemeheal.com with many negative comments on Dr. Dodds. This is another lesson for anyone opting for plastic surgery. Actually the most crucial part when considering plastic surgery is to opt for the right doctor for you. Please read again our guide on how to choose the right Plastic surgeon!
