New Study confirms potential of Water Jet Liposuction
A new study focusing on Water Jet Liposuction gave very encouraging proof! regarding the potential and effect of Water-Jet liposuction. Till now, Water Jet Liposuction (also known with the commercial name Body Jet) was considered a decent alternative of traditional liposuction with strong positive feedback but not solid studies were able to support its potential!
The Peking Union Medical College (of Beijing) came to cover this gap in knowledge regarding WAL, comparing traditional liposuction with WAL in a study based on a blind sample! The team of plastic surgeons that carried out the research took lipoaspirates from healthy women that were willing to undergo body contouring procedures. The team gathered 50 ml of lipoaspirate (the material removed by means of liposuction/lipoaspiration) from patients that had conventional liposuction and 50 ml of lipoaspirate from patients that had WAL. The samples were studied in vitro and in vivo to check the effect of WAL on the vitality of fresh lipoaspirate and count the vitality of fat after the operation.
The results were pretty interesting while the studied showed that fat from WAL lipoaspirate had higher viability and concentration of CD34+/CD45- cells compared to lipoaspirate harvested with conventional liposuction! At the same moment it was found that WAL lipoaspirate presents less apoptosis, improved weight retention and increased angiogenesis comparing to conventional liposuction lipoaspirate!
A few interesting/encouraging data regarding the potential of WAL! Stay tuned for more!
