New study shows bodybuilders’ Gynecomastia efficiently treated with Male Breast Reduction
A new report recently published in the February issue of of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery® (official journal of ASPS – American Society of Plastic Surgeons) shows that Male Breast Reduction is an efficient option to treat gynecomastia in bodybuilders.
The report created by Dr. Mordcai Blau, an expert in gynecomastia surgery who works in White Plains, N.Y! Dr. Blau has a huge experience with male breast reduction, focusing mostly in bodybuilders! His report gathered results from 1073 patients (bodybuilders) and his summary is quite interesting!
His patients age form 18 to 51 and 15% of them were competitive bodybuilders! All patients didn’t face hormonal diseases that could cause gynecomastia! The doctor underlines that bodybuilders require a different approach comparing to other gynecomastia patients. Most of the times bodybuilders don’t require fat or skin removal which doesn’t happen with other patients who are obese/overweight! At the same moment the bodybuilders present higher risk of bleeding during the operation and this is because of the increased blood flow in their huge chest muscles!
According to his experience what is quite essential is to remove completely the breast gland tissue with a tiny incision, because we shouldn’t oversee the fact that bodybuilders are aesthetic perfectionists (which is a troublesome situation, if you ask me) so a bigger incision wouldn’t be appreciated! Following these tips Dr. Blau had the pleasure to report that most of his patients were extremely satisfied. Post operation consumption of steroids didn’t bring about recurrent gynecomastia!
It becomes quite clear that the issue of bodybuilders gynecomastia can be treated efficiently! As always we feel it’s quite important to underline the futility of living on the edges in terms of aesthetics! Trying to eternally improve our appearance is a psychologically corruptive, destructive urge and we would recommend that you check our article on the ethics of aesthetics that would hopefully help you see the whole scenery with completely different eyes!
