After medical school, Dr. Benedetti began a five year residency of general surgery at the University of California, Davis Medical Center. This residency was rewarding for Dr. Benedetti, and in 2001 he was designated Chief Resident of General Surgery. Dr. Benedetti then began two years of residency in plastic surgery at the University of Virginia Health System. Not surprisingly, he was awarded Administrative Chief Resident of Plastic Surgery in 2003.
