When selfies is a reason to spend thousands in cosmetic surgery
This is a phenomenon that is quite common in our days. We’ve referred to the vanity of this trend many times in the past and we’ve shown how neurotic this process is. A latest example of this craziness comes from a 28-year old woman called Shelley Skinns, from London. After having a laser eye surgery that costed £4,000, Shelley decided to also opt for a rhinoplasty and a chin liposuction that costed £8,000.
Shelley describes her insecurity with her image started when she was 16 and she was first tagged in photos on Facebook. The fact that she broke her nose at 8 and her double chin made her feel uncomfortable with her image. Shelley says “I was desperate to have my nose straightened and filed down, it stuck out so much on photos that I started to hate my appearance”.
Yet the option of this double surgery (rhinoplasty/chin liposuction) may temporarily relieve her insecurity, but is this an actual healing? Or its just a superficial relief? Please find on your own, dear visitors!
