How long should i wear a garment?« Back to Previous Page

Hello! Its the 9th day post op (had VASER) and i feel pretty confused.. swelling is still obvious and at the same moment i don't think i can bear this compression garment anymore.. Any idea how much more should i wear it? Is it ok if i remove it for a few hours? Any tip/idea would be highly appreciated!

Hi,
After Vaser wearing your allocated garment is a must throughout the recovery process to ensure you get the best possible results. Wearing the garment will help to minimise swelling and also speed up your recovery process. I recommend that my patients who have Vaser wear their garments for 3 weeks full time and then 3 weeks part time. For the first three weeks when they wear them full time, they can remove them to shower and I would not recommend they leave them off for any longer than 3 hours.

After the first three weeks they can drop back to wearing them for 12 hours a day. It is up to them if they prefer to wear them at night or during the day. I have put a link below that has a really interesting and easy to read blog on wearing garments after Vaser or liposuction procedures. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any further questions.
